The region is located in south-west Georgia and links two historical parts – Samtskhe and Javakheti . The region area is 6413 square kilometres, population – 208 000 men.

Samtskhe-Javakheti has always had very significant strategic connotation as it connected Asia to the west Europe. Due to the location, the region had always been the target for enemies.

Currently, there are 6 municipalities in the region: Akhaktsikhe, Adigeni, Aspindza , Borjomi , Ninotsminda and Akhalkalaki.

The region is especially attractive with its original, caved monuments built in amazing natural environment.

Samtskhe-Javakheti climate is especially healthy and even lots of Georgians frequently visit the region.  The territory is also distinguished with abundance of mineral waters. There are lots of still unknown and unstudied ancient period ruins, as well.
