OVERVIEW
This is a perfect one-week tour to two, probably the most famous parts of Spain – Andalusia and Mediterranean Coast.

You’ll start from Madrid and the bus will take you right into the heart of Andalusia to the cities, that form the ”golden traingle” of Southern Spain, and are trully the essence of its spirit – Cordoba, Seville and Granada. Bullfights, guitars, flamenco, wine, tapas, and passionate people – all what in the world Spain is famous for – you all find it on this trip. Old cathedrals, medieval palaces, beautiful gardens – and  a thousands years of history in front of your eyes.
Later you’ll relocate to the beautiful Mediterranean Coast with main cities of Valencia and Barcelona; to enjoy their long sandy beaches, to see unusual arquitecture and taste a delicious seafood.
Before returning to Madrid, on the last day, you will stop in Zaragoza to visit the famous Basilica Pilar, patron saint of hispanidad.

 Madrid – Cordoba – Seville (530km ~ 329 miles)

Departure from Madrid at 8am towards Cordoba. On the way there you will pass thru the beautiful region of La Mancha. In the early afternoon, once arrived to Cordoba you will have a walking guided tour with some free time for lunch. Tour includes the entrance to the famous Mosque-cathedral of Córdoba and the visit of the Old Town – Jewish Quarter. The Mosque-cathedral was originally a Catholic Christian church built by the Visigoths, however in the middle Ages it was converted into an Islamic mosque and back to Catholic Church after the Reconquista (‘reconquist’). In the middle Ages it was second largest Cathedral in the world. It is also very famous for its wine-colored marble columns and double arches that were an innovation in architecture at that time. After the tour, you’ll depart towards Seville. Arrival, accommodation and dinner.

 Seville

Breakfast, then a city tour with a local guide to see Seville’s most beautiful places and notorious sights: Park of Maria Luisa – Sevilles’s main public park and the largest green area that stretches along Guadalquivir river; the Plaza de Espana – most famous square in Seville and one of the largest in Spain; the Cathedral of Saint Mary; the Minaret of Giralda; as well as the typical Quarter of Santa Cruz (former Jewish Quarter) with its white houses and tiny narrow streets. After the city tour you will have the afternoon off to rest or to explore further more on your own. You can also join an optional tour to the Reales Alcazares (Royal Palaces of Seville). Dinner and 2nd night in Seville.

 Seville – Granada (250km ~ 155 miles)

After the breakfast you will continue to Granada. Here you are going to visit the impressive monumental complex of fortresses La Alhambra, with its typical Arabian palaces Nazaries and its green and picturesque Generalife Gardens. Besides Granada´s absolutely awesome and historical sights, this city is known as one of Andalusia’s hippest, most youthful places, with a ‘free tapas’ culture (when you get a free ´tapa´ – snack, along with each drink ordered), cool bars and intimate flamenco haunts. In the evening you will have the possibility to visit the Sacromonte caves and experience a passionate Zambra flamenco show.  Dinner and accommodation.

 Granada – Valencia (498km ~ 309 miles)

 

Breakfast. Departure towards Valencia. On the way you will pass interesting and typical for the area small towns of Guadix, Baza and Puerto Lumbreras. Later, upon arrival to Valencia you will have the afternoon free to explore a city on your own. Valencia is a Spain’s third – largest city. Highlights not to be missed: futuristic City of Arts and Sciences (‘Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias’) build by world famous arquitect Antonio Calatrava, an old part of the city with Plaza de Ayutamiento (Square of City Hall) and one of Europe’s biggest markets – Mercado Central. Walk thru Turia Garden and don’t forget Valencia’s famous long sandy beach – it is considered one of the best in Spain. Accomodation.

 Valencia – Barcelona (355km ~ 220 miles)

After breakfast you will have some more free time to explore Valencia before you continue your trip to Barcelona. Barcelona is the capital city of the Spanish autonomous region Catalonia with a population of more than 1.6 million (4 million if counted with suburbs), it is the country’s 2nd largest city after Madrid.  Few places in Europe can offer you such a wide diversity of things to do and see as the one you’ll find here in Barcelona. Thanks to its great location, its vibrant street life, its spectacular Gaudi architecture, its incomparable cuisine and its football team this city has become one of the world´s most popular tourist destinations. Once you have reached Barcelona in the late afternoon, it will be at your full disposal to check out its sights and attractions. . Accommodation.

 Barcelona

Breakfast. Sightseeing tour around the city in the frst half of the day. You will see Barcelona’s most famous and impressive monuments, such as the Park of Montjuic, situated on the mountain with its spectacular overviews of the City; the Olympic Ring; the Columbus Statue and the old Gothic Quarter. In the afternoon you will have plenty of free time to discover Barcelona’s other famous places at your pace. You may want to check out famous creations of Antonio Gaudi: get inside the Sagrada Familia – the longest time ´under construction´ building in the world – and Park Guell with its unique mosaic. Walk down on the famous artistic and pedestrian Las Ramblas street; you can shop in the old town or in numerous shopping malls around Barcelona. Some of you may want to visit Barcelona´s Oceonarim (L’Aquarium), which is the largest in Europe.  2nd night in Barclona.

 Barcelona – Zaragoza – Madrid (635km ~ 395 miles)

Breakfast. Departure towards Madrid. On your way back to the capital you will pass through cities Lleida and Zaragoza. Lleida is one of the oldest towns in Catalonia, with recorded settlements dating back to the Bronze Age period. In Zaragoza you will have free time to visit the local sights such as the impressive Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar or the bridge ‘Puente de Piedra’. Later continuation to Madrid and end of service.

Seville
   NH Viapol**** A modern hotel located in the heart of Seville’s business area, a pleasant 15-20 minute walk to Santa Cruz Quarter and Maria Luisa Park – some of the main attractions of the City. Tram (public transport) station is just few meters outside of the hotel too. Valencia

Barcelona
    Catalonia Barcelona 505**** hotel located in the sophisticated zone of Sarria – Sant Gervasi and not too far from the famous Park Guell – beautiful park, which was designed by the world-famous architect Antonio Gaudi. Hotel has an outdoor pool, is modern looking and offers a rich and satisfying buffet breakfast as well as a restaurant for dinner. Few train stations around makes a City center easily reachable, it will only take around 15 min.
